Cargo Bike Trials Begin

Posted on July 17, 2013 at 11:50 am

We’ve been keeping our heads down the last few weeks.

There’s a lot of really great stuff in the pipeline which we’ll be sharing with you over the coming weeks.

The first thing is that today at 12 noon is the official start of the Cargo Bike Trials project with Hackney Council. We want businesses to see how cargo bikes might make their lives easier, their businesses greener as well as their employees and customers happier. To do this, we have begun partnering with councils to offer free cargo bike trials to businesses.

Is that a mad idea?

We didn’t think so, and neither did Hackney, or Camden or Lambeth or  the CTC who are supporting Brentford Bikes! in Hounslow. All of which understood the benefits of offering the trials to their local business immediately!  The great news is that if you have a business that you think might benefit from changing your logistics to cargo bikes theirs weekly trials launching in your borough soon. Pretty great, right?

Hackney is the first to officially launch under the Zero Emissions Network (ZEN) and their official press release is here.

We’ll publish the others as soon as the details are available.

Businesses in Shoreditch will be the first to take part in the trials, and can register by emailing zen@hackney.gov.uk
