May 9th 2013 might have been the day we opened our doors to the world but it was far from the beginning; the story really began the previous May.
Roman, our shop’s owner and store manager Chandra were working together as employees at another London bike shop. That shop sold in May 2012. As often happens, a change of ownership brought a change of direction, which lead to opportunity.. Roman spotted it immediately and approached Christiania to become their sole retailer in London.
It may have taken nearly a year to have a physical shop, but we were trading the whole time.
This is our story, the story of London’s first Cargo Bike Shop and our work to help London embrace what we already have..
