The Christiania Classic Electric midDrive is a premium Danish-built electric three-wheel cargo bike designed for safe, stable family transport and everyday urban use. Powered by the Shimano STePs EP8 Cargo mid-drive motor with 85 Nm of torque, it delivers smooth, torque-sensing assistance and a typical real-world range of 20-40 miles per full charge, making hills and heavier loads easy to manage. With its spacious front cargo box, the Classic Electric midDrive is a practical car-replacement for school runs, shopping, and daily travel.

Who Is This Bike For?

The Christiania Classic Electric midDrive is ideal for families with one or two children, supporting a wide range of ages and passenger setups. It can carry babies 1–9 months in a Maxi-Cosi carrier, toddlers 9–18 months in a Toddler Seat, and older children up to around 8–9 years old. When the rain tent is not fitted, teenagers and adults can also sit in the box, offering flexibility as family needs change.

Its stable three-wheel design, powerful mid-drive motor, and durable construction also make it well suited to carers and light commercial use where safety, reliability, and ease of handling are essential.

Motor & Performance

The powerful EP8 Shimano STePs motor is designed specifically for Cargo bikes, perfect for hauling what you need, where you need it – including heavy loads on hilly terrain. It can provide up to 85 Nm of torque and has typical real-world range of 20-40 miles per full charge. The battery has been developed in collaboration with Sony and contains Sony’s most advanced battery cells, which can handle up to 1,000 charges without significant power loss. The battery recharges quickly and can be charged while it is mounted on the bike.

In addition, the torque-sensing motor automatically adjusts to suit you, for a safer, more intuitive riding experience. The harder you pedal, the more the motor helps – so it won’t jerk forward when you’re peddling slowly in a busy pedestrian zone, but it will give you all the power you need to feel like that last big hill before nursery isn’t there at all.

Cargo Box & Passenger Options

The Christiania Classic Electric midDrive features a spacious, versatile front cargo box designed to carry passengers or cargo with ease. It comfortably accommodates babies in a Maxi-Cosi carrier, toddlers in a Toddler Seat, older children, and even adults seated on the bench when the rain tent is not in place.

The cargo box can be fitted with either a Hard Bench or a Soft Seat, depending on how you plan to use the bike. The Hard Bench offers lockable storage and can be removed to create a flat cargo area, while the Soft Seat provides more cushioned passenger comfort and flips up when carrying larger loads. Both options allow the rain tent to be folded away and stored on sunny days, keeping the cargo area clear and tidy.

Finished in durable, high-quality automotive paint, the cargo box is built to withstand daily family use. It resists rain, scratches, mud, and scuffs from little feet, and is easy to clean, helping the bike look good for many years and retain strong resale value.

With internal dimensions of 88 × 62 × 50 cm and a maximum load capacity of 100 kg, the box easily carries prams, shopping, backpacks, or larger cargo alongside passengers. A lid or soft cover can also be added to keep contents secure and protected from the weather.
